Thank you Mudgee! – raffle winners announced

Mudgee District Environment Group’s  (MDEG) AGM was held on Saturday 12th May. The morning started out very cold but we were all snug inside Colin and Julie Imrie’s beautiful mud brick and strawbale house on the banks of the Goulburn River near The Drip. After a lively and relaxed meeting the sun came out in time for us to enjoy making Pizzas in the garden for lunch. A big pot of vegetable soup also helped to warm us up for the planning session that followed. Hint: stay tuned to this column for news of up-coming events and how to get involved in any of MDEG’s activities!

A highlight of the meeting was drawing the raffle conducted to raise funds for our ‘Save The Drip’ campaign. Tickets had been sold since February at various Agricultural Shows, markets and street stalls. Ticket sales and donations came from concerned locals, regular visitors, new residents and ‘first-timers’ to our region. One thing everyone had in common was a strong interest and willingness to show their support for protecting our beautiful Dripping Gorge. Find out more at https://www.facebook.com/savethedripThe interest and commitment of all of you is very encouraging!

Third prize: A hamper of wonderful Mudgee produce. Who wouldn’t want to indulge in the contents of this basket? Ken Miller from Artarmon (Sydney) will enjoy the delectable goodies. Thanks to MDEG Secretary Derek Finter who delivered it to him.
