FROM THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TEAM AT TRANSGRID…

“TransGrid is working with the NSW Government to plan new transmission infrastructure for Australia’s first coordinated Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) in the State’s Central-West Orana region.

Investment in new transmission will allow renewable energy generators and storage projects in the region to connect to the grid and provide affordable, reliable and clean energy to NSW customers.

While the Government is leading and coordinating delivery of the Central-West Orana REZ, TransGrid will build the transmission infrastructure (i.e. high-voltage power lines).

Late last year, TransGrid and the Government identified a wide study corridor where new transmission infrastructure could be built to support the development of the REZ.

We would like to work with the Mudgee District Environment Group, landowners in the region and the community to learn more about the local area. Your feedback will help us to refine the study corridor and develop a route for the new transmission lines.

An online interactive map has been developed where landowners and the community will be able to provide feedback on the study corridor and record information about their property and surrounding region.

For more information about the project visit our website. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me an email or call 1800 313 212.
