Good News!

We have had 100% success in removing Paspalum in the site where the Control Burn was conducted in 2015.

There is no sign of the invasive weed Cleavers where they were covered with a thick layer of Mulch. We were concerned that using this technique might kill not only the weeds but also the natives. However, we were pleased to see some small native plants are starting to appear.

At our October Working B all the brier bushes were sprayed using traditional chemical methods. A few small blackberries have also been sprayed using an organic mixture “Biogreen”. This product is being trialled by Christchurch Council in New Zealand in their parks and gardens.

When the new growth appears on the Blackberries our team will jump into action and spray them.

Hopefully in 2018 we will see positive results for all our hard work.
